Captured through the lens of photographer Jonathan VDK, the Sunset Villa's revitalized interior and exterior spaces are a true masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. Inspired by the client's artwork, the project's Northern Edge Studio team has successfully blended vintage flair with modern sophistication, creating a unique and captivating atmosphere that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
As you step through the grand entrance of Sunset Villa, you are immediately greeted by a sense of nostalgia and luxury. Every detail, from the rich color palette of burnt oranges, deep greens, and gold accents to the geometric patterns of the lighting design, reflects the iconic aesthetics of the 1970s. Statement pieces like a new sunken conservation pit and curved kitchen bench further enhance the authenticity of the design.
While the villa celebrates its vintage roots, it also embraces contemporary comforts. The Northern Edge Studio team incorporated a new internal layout to allow for a private zone for the teenage children, featuring a circulation path lined with curved walls that create a sense of flow and intimacy. New arched openings, link the living areas and are emphasized with a venetian plaster finish, which captures the light, adding to the villa's elegant ambiance. Additional updates include state-of-the-art amenities, a modern kitchen outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances, a new deluxe kitchen expansion with custom pink benchtops, a luxurious spa-inspired bathroom, and energy-efficient systems seamlessly integrated into the retro design. This harmonious blend of the past and present ensures that Sunset Villa is not only a visual delight but also a functional and sustainable space.
