why we do what we do

meet our team

Northern Edge is very much about collaboration between professionals and the clients we serve. We see good communication as a cornerstone to every successful project and work hard to make sure that we facilitate good design through a process that empowers the clients, trades and designers.

The team at Northern Edge Studio are passionate about good design which is environmentally sensitive, responsible, and provides a lasting value to the clients and society in general.

Paul Cooksey Architect

Paul Cooksey

Paul studied architecture at UniSA, deciding against engineering after touring the cities of Europe post year 12. He has worked in Adelaide, Melbourne, NZ and the UK before coming back home to Adelaide, South Australia to set up Northern Edge Studio at the Glen Osmond offices.

With experience in heritage, commercial, high rise and public housing, it is in the small projects that his passion and knowledge really shines. Paul loves working with clients, builders, trades and suppliers to get the project just right. He has a passion for mid-century modernism and updating or repurposing existing buildings.

Paul enjoys a good book, cycling or a chat about his favourite football team, Manchester United. You can catch him on weekends still playing for Unley Rangers or escaping to the hills for a walk or a ride.

Nelize Van Wyk – Interior Architect

Nelize Van Wyk

Interior Architect

Nelize does the stuff.

Nelize graduated from the UniSA  in 2019 with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture. With an interest in residential design and renovation, Nelize loves being able to breathe new life into existing homes.

She enjoys working collaboratively to bring a client’s idea to life and developing it to surpass the client’s expectations. She has a solid foundation of knowledge in designing a space that is both beautiful and functional.

In her time off, she enjoys socialising with friends and family, whether it’s a camping trip over a weekend or a nice dinner in in the city.

Dakota Simpson – Architectural Grad

dakota simpson

architectural grad

Dakota started architecture straight out of high school as something to do to pass the time and fell in love with it. Graduating from her Masters of Architecture at UniSA in 2019 and now she is continuing her studies further, currently undertaking a Diploma of Urban and Regional Planning.

The love for seeing a concept and vison grow into something more is what drives Dakota. She believes that architecture pushes you to continue learning, and strives for excellence in all she does.

When not at work Dakota loves cruising in her classic car around rural South Australia, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air all while exploring new places and experiences.

Indianna – Goodwill Ambassador

Anna Braunack-Mayer

Anna has an assortment of skills and qualifications that lend themselves well to admin and marketing.

While she doesn't have a degree in architecture, she has a passion for heritage buildings and environmental sustainability. When she isn't writing a socials post or sending out emails, she likes to ask the rest of the office questions to further her knowledge.

In her free time, she likes to go for walks and can often be found crouched down next to a plant, trying to identify it and then taking a snip to propagate at home.

Indianna – Goodwill Ambassador

Indi graduated puppy school in 2020 and is working toward a Diploma in Landscape Design

She loves everything and everyone. There is nothing she won't do. Or lick. Or eat.  She has a passion for people and wants to get to know them and what makes them tick.. or what food they have.

She is not the most productive member of the studio, often seen snoozing at the window, but she motivates the team to be active by  demanding regular trips to the park

Indi would love to meet you.
REALLY love to.
